Shang Salah is a London-based Kurdish-Iraqi filmmaker, visual artist, curator and researcher working across photography, video, and collage.
Born in Kurdistan and based in London, her practice is rooted in the intersections of temporality, physicality, and memory. Her film practice ranges from video art, short documentaries and fashion films. She directs, edits, and shoots.
She is a co-creative director and producer at ROOD, a creative collective documenting the youth culture of today. With ROOD, she curates and produces exhibitions and events, combining nights out and art.
Her work has been exhibited across London, Berlin, Athens, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.

Over the past two years, she has worked in non-scripted TV, creative production, digital media, research, and cultural programming. Her production credits include Netflix, Vice, and Channel 4. She has worked as a logger, junior researcher, production assistant, social media manager, content creator, video editor, and commissioned filmmaker.
She is currently completing her MSc in Media, Communication, and Development at LSE.
